It all started with a little party in our garage"

In 2017 Shannon met Mike Dorman, the Founder of Military Missions in Action (MMIA) and led a large employee give back event at Cisco Systems in Research Triangle Park, NC where hundreds of volunteers packaged and donated over 400 kitchen and bath kits for homeless veterans in NC. After that successful event Mike asked Shannon to join his team. Shannon served on the board of MMIA as the Secretary from 2017 to 2019.

2017-2019 Military Missions in Action

In 2017 Shannon and her husband Geoff decided to host a St Patrick's Day Party at their house for a few friends. Shannon made Guinness Stew and everyone brought an appetizer.

In 2018, Shannon and Geoff transformed their house party into a FUNdraiser benefiting Military Missions in Action (MMIA) and called it the St Patrick’s Day Party with a Purpose! They added a DJ, corn hole tournament and a few raffle prizes. With her Cisco matching Shannon and Geoff raised $4500 in one night!

In 2019 the event was even bigger with over 150 people attending and raised $7400 for Veterans in NC.

2023 Mike Lange & AFTD

In March 2023, Shannon and handful of passionate volunteers transformed the private party fundraiser into a large scale public event with 300+ attendees. The event was held at the Springdale Area Recreation Club (SARC) in memory of friend Michael Lange benefiting The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD). This single event raised $23,770!

2024 Pam Richardson & Angie Pross & LLS

On March 16, 2024, the St. Patrick’s Day Party with a Purpose was more than just an annual fundraiser—it was our first event hosted by Celebrate for Good Inc as a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization.

The event was held in memory of friend Pam Richardson benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Pam lost her fight against Acute Myloid Lymphoma (AML) on June 28, 2023. During the initial planning phase Shannon learned that a friend’s niece (Angie), a young mother with 3 small children was battling AML, the same blood cancer that took Pam’s life. With this news the event purpose expanded to include support for Angie Pross. The team set a bullish goal of $25,000, but with the incredible support of family, friends, numerous volunteers and sponsors the event raised $41,535 — exceeding expectations and showing the power of what we can achieve when we lead with our hearts and take meaningful action for others.

Sadly Angie lost her battle on October 30, 2024 after a long and fearless fight. The loss hit the Celebrate for Good team hard, but Angie’s tenacity, optimism and courage has inspired and shaped our 2025 vision and mission and the Heart and Hope program.

Celebrate For Good Inc was established as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN:93-4466609) in the fall of 2023.

What began as a neighborhood house party has grown into the vision of a couple women passionate about their community and giving back.

”The best part about Celebrate For Good (C4G) events is that each one offers a chance to learn, connect, and inspire generosity. Every time, I walk away with a deeper understanding of myself and others—and a renewed desire to give back. That’s a truly beautiful thing.”
